Description for B&B:

Nestled in the charming village of Jonquières, just 6 miles away from the renowned Orange antique theater and a mere 20-minute drive from the vibrant city of Avignon, the Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat is a delightful old stone farmhouse that embodies the authentic Provençal style. With buildings dating back to the 17th century, this bed and breakfast has undergone careful renovations to preserve its rustic charm while providing modern comforts in all of its accommodations.

Situated in the heart of Popess Provence and the sunny Vaucluse region, the Mas offers breathtaking views of the majestic Ventoux Mount. Guests can indulge in the comfort of self-catering accommodations and explore the plethora of tourism and attractions that Provence has to offer. The picturesque landscapes and lavender fields of the Luberon area are within easy reach, as are the renowned towns of Avignon and Chateauneuf du Pape, where guests can embark on a wine-tasting journey along the famous wine route of Cotes du Rhone.

Travelers can conveniently reach Avignon from Paris in just 2 hours and 40 minutes via the high-speed TGV train, or in 3 hours from CDG airport. Bed and breakfast services are available in Avignon for those seeking a comfortable stay.

Surrounded by sprawling Cotes du Rhone vineyards, the Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat offers a peaceful and secluded retreat. Hosted by the owners, Charles and Andrée Barail, who are fluent in English, guests can choose from two self-contained studio apartments and two larger two-bedroom apartments. Each of the four guest apartments features private facilities, including a WC, shower, and kitchen.

To gain insights from previous guests, visitors can read TripAdvisor reviews of those who have experienced the hospitality of le Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat. According to Condé Nast Traveler, if this 17th-century stone mas, surrounded by untamed flowerbeds, lawns, and gravel terraces shaded by mature trees, does not fulfill your Provencal rural fantasy, then you may have the wrong picture in mind.

Directions

Please be aware that for the privacy of our guests, we intentionally decided not to have any signs at the entrance of our driveway.

If you are coming from the A7 motorway, take the Orange Sud exit (#22) and follow the signs towards Avignon. Afterward, make a left turn onto the D950 road towards Vaison-la-Romaine & Carpentras. Disregard the first sign for Jonquières and continue on the D950. When you reach a roundabout, follow the sign for Jonquières and just before entering the village, make a right turn into the driveway of the Mas, called "Chemin de l'Escarrat". This driveway is located immediately after passing the Sotalis company, approximately 1 kilometer after the roundabout.

If you are coming from Orange, drive through the village of Jonquières in the direction of Carpentras (Avenue de la Libération). As you approach the exit of the village, turn left into a driveway that is bordered by the walls of the Sotalis company. At the entrance of the road, there will be a "dead end road sign". The Mas is located approximately 400 meters along this driveway.
