Description for B&B:
The two rooms are separate from our main house and have their own entrance. Each room has its own toilet and shower facilities. The beds are 160x200 cm in size. Breakfast will be served either on the terrace with a view of the swimming pool, or in the shared conservatory. The rooms are equipped with TNT (cable) flat-screen TVs and WIFI access is available. Private parking is also provided.Located in Esnandes, a charming village in Charente-Maritime, our house is just a ten-minute drive from La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré. Esnandes is situated on the edge of the Marais Poitevin, also known as Green Venice. Our house is in the heart of the village, only two kilometers from the sea. You will love the peaceful and calm environment. The village itself is picturesque, with narrow streets adorned with hollyhocks and charming cream-colored houses. The fortified church, dating back to the 12th century, adds to the architectural beauty of the village. Adjacent to the church is the Mytiliculture Museum, which showcases the history of mussel farming, as Esnandes was once a major center for cultivating Moules de Bouchot.
Esnandes is also located on the Bay of Aiguillon, with La Rochelle to the south and the beaches of the Vendée to the north. The bay is a natural reserve for migratory birds, making it a haven for birdwatching. The L.P.O (ornithological society) organizes walks where you can explore this natural environment and its diverse bird life.
Despite its proximity to popular tourist destinations like La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré, Esnandes has managed to maintain its authenticity as a traditional seaside village. Even during the tourist season, the village remains calm and tranquil, offering a perfect place to relax while still being close to La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré, and the Marais Poitevin.
For outdoor enthusiasts, you can enjoy biking along the coastal pathway that surrounds the Bay of Aiguillon. The impressive Ile de Ré bridge is just a short drive away. A walk from our house to Pointe Saint-Clément will reward you with panoramic views of the bay, where you can also consult an orientation table and admire the stunning sunsets. Don't miss the opportunity to see the colorful carrelets, typical cabins used by local fishermen, along the Atlantic coast.
If you're longing for golden beaches, the Vendée coast, including Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer, is less than a 45-minute drive away.
