Although there are several car parks near the house, you can easily access the cottage by taking a short walk through the charming old stone streets of the historic district called "Le Barri." This name originates from the ancient fortifications that once surrounded this part of the town. The absence of cars in the immediate vicinity makes our cottage particularly suitable for families with children or anyone seeking a peaceful getaway.
There are numerous activities available within a short distance from the lodge. The village is renowned for being the starting point of many hiking routes and is conveniently located near the GR10 trail. This trail spans across France, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast, following the majestic Pyrenees mountain range. Welcome to our charming gite! As you ascend to the first floor, you will be greeted by a cozy living room complete with a television for your entertainment. Here, you will also discover the first single bedroom, boasting picturesque views of the majestic mountains and the tranquil stream flowing right in front of the house.Climbing the stairs to the second floor, you will find the second single bedroom, conveniently located near the shower and bathroom facilities.
At the front of the house, the double bedroom awaits, offering a balcony that provides a breathtaking panorama of the valley, encompassing rolling hills and towering mountains. This vantage point is perfect for immersing yourself in the beauty of the surroundings.
Just steps away from the house, a terrace awaits you. Equipped with a table, bench, parasol, and barbecue, it is perfect for indulging in al fresco dining. The soothing sounds and refreshing breeze from the nearby creek create an idyllic atmosphere for relaxation, shielding you from the summer heat.
If you are eager to explore, a short climb up the steps adjacent to the house will lead you to forest trails, opening up a world of possibilities for delightful walks in the valley.

The Gite du Rocher is located in the historic area of Auzat village, nestled in the Vicdessos valley at the base of Montcalm mountain, which is the highest peak in Ariège at an altitude of 3050m.
Getting to the gîte is convenient as it can be easily reached by car. It is only a 20-minute drive away from the closest train station, Tarascon-sur-Ariége. Additionally, if needed, transportation can be arranged to pick you up from the train station.
