Welcome to our guesthouse for rent in Charente Maritime, located near La Rochelle on the beautiful Atlantic coast. Our independent guesthouse offers a high level of comfort and is situated within a closed property surrounded by trees and a large swimming pool.Perfect for four people, the guesthouse boasts a spacious and well-exposed living room with a cozy lounge area, TV, and a fireplace. There is also a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The living room opens up to a large terrace overlooking the swimming pool, complete with comfortable armchairs for sunbathing.
The guesthouse features two bedrooms, one with a 140cm bed and the other with two 90cm beds. There is also a bathroom and separate toilet.
In terms of location, Charente Maritime enjoys a generally sunny climate, similar to the Mediterranean coast but without the strong winds. Our house is situated in the small village of Poléon within the Saint Georges du Bois commune, just a short distance from Surgères, which offers a TGV train station and all necessary amenities. Paris is approximately 400km away via the toll road, and La Rochelle and Rochefort are both within 30km.
Poléon is located near the renowned "Green Venise," a famous part of the Marais-Poitevin. Additionally, the charming Island of Ré with its local harbor and beautiful sandy beaches is just a 30-minute drive away.
During your stay, you can enjoy various activities on-site, including swimming in the 12m x 6m swimming pool, playing ping-pong, and trying your hand at 'pétanque'. There are also opportunities for leisurely walks or bike rides in the Aunis county, as well as tennis and horse riding in Saint Georges du Bois.
In the surrounding area, you can visit the Venise Verte and explore it by boat, canoe, or bike. The nearby beaches offer a range of activities such as sailing, surfing, and funboarding. Other nearby activities include bowling, fishing, karting, and an 18-hole golf course.
For day trips, you can explore the islands of Île de Ré and Île d'Oléron by car, or take a boat to Île d'Aix and see the famous fort Boyard. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the historic cities of La Rochelle, with its old town and harbor, and Rochefort, home to the Corderie Royale and the Hermione construction site. Chatelaillon is also worth a visit for its beach, aquatic center, and casino.
Furthermore, the Aunis and Saintonge counties offer numerous historical and cultural sites to discover.
