Description:

Description for Gite

Mas de la Gache is a charming farmhouse that dates back to the early 17th century. Over the past 12 years, our dedicated team (Esmé, Eddie, Julia, and Lucie) has worked tirelessly to restore and revitalize this historic property. In addition to our small-scale farming activities, we have also created a beautiful holiday apartment, allowing us to share our unique corner of France with visitors. The apartment is nearly completed and will be available for rent starting this summer.

Situated just outside the village, a leisurely 15-minute walk away, our "Mas" offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Separated from the village by the picturesque Cèze river, our location ensures a tranquil and serene environment without the distractions of traffic noise, bright streetlights, crowded resorts, or intrusive neighbors. Instead, you will find a sanctuary of peace and quiet, where you can bask in the beauty of the starry night sky, listen to the harmonious melodies of birds and insects, and experience the charm of farm life with clucking chicks, crowing roosters, fresh eggs, and homegrown tomatoes. Furthermore, our region enjoys a favorable climate for most of the year, adding to the overall appeal of our location. In short, we offer the ideal place to unwind and simply do nothing. It is a haven for indulging in long siestas under the shade of trees by the riverside, enjoying leisurely breakfasts, and savoring delicious home-cooked dinners.

For an affordable price, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the deep south of France. What we value most is the sense of space and tranquility that surrounds our farm, and we sincerely hope that you will fully appreciate and enjoy it during your stay. We personally delight in waking up in the morning, stepping outside with a cup of coffee, and being greeted by the symphony of birdsong and the gentle murmur of the river. Life in the south is meant to be lived outdoors, and yet we have also created an 80 m2 apartment on the first floor of one of our barns. This charming space features a rooftop terrace overlooking the courtyard, two spacious double (or triple) bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a large open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment has been lovingly restored in accordance with traditional building styles and provides a fresh and comfortable retreat during the warm summer days.

Inside the apartment, you will find all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay, including a well-equipped kitchen, a television, a cozy wood-burning stove, and heated bathrooms. Outside, as mentioned before, there is plenty of space for leisure activities, walking, or simply relaxing.

Goudargues, a delightful village with a population of approximately 1,000 inhabitants, is located nearby. Steeped in history that spans several centuries, the village still retains its old-world charm, evident in its architecture and surroundings. Situated in the Cèze valley, Goudargues is known as the "Venice of the Gard" due to its charming canals that wind through the village center. The village is a hub for eco-tourism in the area, offering a range of amenities and services, including bakeries, a butcher, hair salons, beauty parlors, a supermarket, bars, restaurants, a post office, tourist information, and various specialty shops. These vibrant activities contribute to the lively atmosphere of Goudargues, setting it apart from other beautiful yet lifeless villages.

Despite the regular influx of visitors, Goudargues maintains a relaxed and easygoing ambiance, allowing you to unwind with a refreshing beer or a glass of pastis on one of the terraces along the canals, shaded by the majestic 200-year-old plane trees.
