Description for Gite

Nestled in the serene countryside of the Perigord Noir, Le Petit Chambon is perfectly situated between the tranquil village of Gabillou and the charming hamlet of Pauliac. This idyllic gite offers a comfortable and convenient home base for exploring the abundant attractions of the Dordogne region, including Hautefort, Sarlat, the Lascaux caves, and much more.

Recently renovated just two years ago, Le Petit Chambon boasts a cozy lounge with a wood burner, as well as a fully equipped "cuisine americane" complete with a spacious electric oven, gas hob, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. Should you feel inspired to try out new recipes during your stay, we are more than happy to provide additional equipment, herbs, and spices. Alternatively, if you prefer a more relaxed dining experience, you can easily visit one of the nearby local restaurants, just a short drive away.

The gite features a large bedroom overlooking the picturesque courtyard, which can be arranged with either a double bed and an additional single bed, or three single beds for those traveling with friends. Additionally, the gite offers a spacious "wet room" style shower and toilet, along with a separate toilet and basin. For added convenience, a laundry room with a washing machine is also available. Bedlinen and towels are provided and refreshed weekly.

Unwind by the pool or find solace in a good book while seated at the charming blue table and chairs in the courtyard. Off-road parking is available for your convenience. Furthermore, when the gite was renovated, special consideration was given to accessibility for disabled guests. For more information on our facilities, please don't hesitate to inquire when booking your stay at Le Petit Chambon.

Directions

To easily reach Les Chambons by car, there are two options. If you're coming from the N89 at Thenon, simply turn left at the main crossroads in Thenon and follow the signs for Sainte-Orse. This will take you through a small village and eventually to Gabillou. From there, continue on the D70 road for about 4km until you reach Les Chambons.

Alternatively, if you're driving from Limoges on the D704, look for the signpost for Sainte-Orse about 10 minutes past Saint Agnan. Follow the signs for Sainte-Orse until you reach the village center. At a small crossroads with Hotel de France on the left and the Marie on the right, turn right and go downhill. Take the left turn at the bottom of the hill, signposted Gabillou. Continue on this road for 4km, ignoring the left turn to Gabillou. Look out for a stone cottage called Le Chambon, our neighbor, just past the Gabillou turning. Les Chambons, the big house, is located on the left after the stone cottage. Proceed past the side of the house and make a sharp right turn (slowly!) through the large iron gates into the courtyard. You may need to perform a two-point turn to accomplish this.
