Directions
To reach St Maurice de Lignons from Lyon by car, follow these directions:
1. Take Highway A7 or A46 towards Marseille.
2. Just before Givors, switch to Highway A47 in the direction of St Etienne/Clermont Ferrand.
3. Continue on National 88 towards Le Puy en Velay as you arrive in St Etienne. You will be on a 2x2 way road.
4. After passing Monistrol s/loire, take the St Maurice exit, which is approximately 6-7 kms ahead.
5. Go under the N88 to enter St Maurice de Lignons village.
6. Drive straight through the village until the end. Just before exiting, you will see a parking lot on your right.
7. At this intersection, turn left towards Maubourg-Les Yverras-Chateau de Maubourg (a steel cross indicates the intersection).
8. Continue on this road for about 1 km, as it goes downhill and then uphill through a wooded area.
9. When you come out of the woods, keep driving downhill for another 200 meters.
10. At the bottom of this descent, you will see a group of stone houses on your left. La Desirade home is a large stone farm building with a wooden gate. Bonne route!
If you prefer to travel by train, you can take a train to Bas-Monistrol-sur-Loire and then hire a taxi to reach your destination.
For those flying in, you can choose to arrive at either Saint-Etienne or Lyon St-Exupéry airports.
