The Halepa Hotel, originally built in the late 19th Century in the New Classical style, holds a rich history as the former Embassy building of the British during the era of Cretan Democracy. Serving as a significant location for the signing of important treaties, this hotel played a vital role in Cretan history. In 1990, the hotel underwent a renovation, adding a new wing with 42 rooms, carefully constructed to preserve the magnificence of the original structure. Since then, the hotel has operated with great success. The accommodations include 3 Suites and 46 rooms, with the Traditional Wing featuring a VIP Suite and 5 Superior rooms accessible via an exterior marble staircase. The New Wing offers 2 Small Suites and 41 Standard rooms, including 3 adjoining Family rooms. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as private bathrooms, hair dryers, shaver outlets, phones, free internet access, music systems, satellite TVs, mini-bars, and central heating/air conditioning. The hotel underwent its latest renovation in 2005.
