Our beautiful guest house, Locanda Gallo, is full of character and is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence. Situated in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, one of the most important historical sectors of the city, Locanda Gallo is housed in a traditional Florentine building. With a small entrance and charming little stairs, our guest house is located on the 3rd floor of a historic palace that once hosted a part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta" in the 1400s.In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Our guest house offers various room options, including four-bed private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, triple private rooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and double private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and kitchen corners. All of our rooms are sunny, clean, and newly furnished. Guests are provided with their own personal set of keys and can enjoy amenities such as a private bathroom, TV, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.
At Locanda Gallo, there is no curfew, allowing guests to come and go as they please. Our double rooms with kitchen corners are ideal for those looking to rent for a longer period. We pride ourselves on providing courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a very central location at the best prices in Florence.
In addition to our comfortable accommodations, we offer various services to enhance our guests' stay. These include a reception area with a computer and free internet access, room service (on request), linen and hand towels, availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (only in some rooms), booking of museum tickets, bicycle rental, and provision of city maps. We also offer additional services such as cell phone rental, garage parking (extra fee of 15 euros per day), and a partnership with typical Florentine restaurants.
If you are looking for a memorable stay in Florence and appreciate a place that offers more than standard, anonymous accommodations, then Locanda Gallo is the perfect choice. Please note that our guest house is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors without an elevator.

From Florence's Amerigo Vespucci Airport, you can take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, it's a 10-15 minute walk. Head towards via Nazionale, then turn onto via XXV aprile. Continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. Turn right onto Via S. Gallo and walk until you reach our address at number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Train:
If you arrive at Santa Maria Novella train station, you can reach us on foot in just 10-15 minutes. Take the exit on the left towards Piazza Adua. From there, walk along via Nazionale, then turn onto via XXV aprile. Continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once on Via S. Gallo, turn left and continue until you reach number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you're coming from the north, Pisa, or highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova, exit at Firenze Nord and follow the signs for the city center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, then turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left onto Via San Gallo and look for number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
If you're coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or highway A1 Roma-Napoli, exit at Firenze Sud and follow the signs for the city center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, take a left at the first traffic light (as if you were circling the square). After the second traffic light, take Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico, which is on the right across from it. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Via Poliziano. At the next traffic light, cross the street and stay on the right side, taking Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left onto Via San Gallo and look for number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
